Little Dude is really growing!

As of July 11, Little Dude was 6 months old. Time has sure flown!
Here is a little sample of what Little Dude is currently doing:
In more news, Little Dude had his first emergency room visit last Friday. I gave him a bit of formula in a sippy cup with his breakfast. Within minutes, he was developing red blotches and hives, as well as coughing and spitting up the cereal and fruit he had just eaten. By the time we got to the hospital, his eyes were swollen and red, too. It was pretty scary! However, my wonderful neighbor across the street traveled with me to the hospital (since hubby was at work), and sat in the back seat to keep an eye on Little Dude all the way there. It is wonderful to have such a good neighbor!
On that Friday, Little Dude’s doctor also noticed a small bit of a tooth popping through on his lower right side. So, as of this weekend, Little Dude officially has his first tooth!
On Saturday, we stopped out at my grandparent’s farm, as we haven’t been out there since it has been on the market. It was wonderful to visit the farm, even though it was bittersweet, knowing that Grandpa is no longer with us, that Grandma doesn’t live there anymore and that it is for sale. I did get to take Little Dude’s picture with my niece and my nephew though, in front of one of the wonderful willow trees in the back of the house. So many memories of swinging from and climbing that willow tree…
It is neat to see the three of them where my two sisters and I used to play!
We are waiting to get some test results on blood work for Little Dude, to see if they can pinpoint his allergic reaction – if it is due to milk proteins, so until then, no formula, and we are watching everything else he eats or comes in contact with. Hopefully it is something he will outgrow later on, if it is an allergy. But, we are also hoping that maybe, just maybe, he was just having a weird reaction since he is teething. I know – very small chance of that, but from other moms, I’ve heard it is possible and that weird things happen when those teeth start coming in.
