A bottomless pit

Little Dude’s appetite has recovered with a vengeance and I’m positive his crib will be gone come morning, as he will have eaten it during the night. Hopefully he at least leaves his mattress.

He munched on and off all day, attacked his meals, and downed every bottle/sippy cup he was given.

Either he is making up for lost time from when he couldn’t/didn’t eat much, or he is hitting another growth spurt. dogtrain.jpgThen again, maybe this is how all little boys are supposed to eat and the Hubby and I better seek second jobs to support his need for food as he grows. (Good grief – between food and the tooth fairy, we may both need three jobs!)

Besides eating, we had a great day with Little Dude. I popped in one of his other CDs by Sandra BoyntonDog Train. For those moms who prefer something a little closer to real music – so far this CD has been very pleasing and fun (and Dog Train is sung by Blues Traveler!).

Little Dude still prefers Cows, though (first song on Philadelphia Chickens). Which is fine – but I’m a little burnt out on singing, “if you thought that all we could do was go moo…” I needed some variety, and hopefully, Little Dude will grow to like some of these other songs, too!

I had one of those great mommy moments, today, too. The Hubby and I were both sitting on the living room floor with Little Dude this evening. We had the TV on and Little Dude was playing between us, as we zoomed some of his cars back and forth. Little Dude got distracted by another toy, so the Hubby and I were both tuned into the TV for a moment. Suddenly, Little Dude barreled across the floor and into my arms, giving me the biggest hug ever. He was laughing and smiling the whole way, causing the Hubby and I to both start laughing.

I love being a mommy.

Poor Hubby, though. He looked at Little Dude and said, “hey, why don’t I ever get the loving?” (He does – he just gets more of the laughing, playful moments than I do, where I get the cuddly, need security moments.)

Little Dude quickly became the peanut butter in our snuggle sandwich as we both hugged and kissed him – leading to squirming, laughing bundle of little boy!

After all of that, he wanted to walk – which means mommy has to walk with him. And where did he want to go?

His room.

With the CD player.

He stood at the base of the bookshelf and pointed at the CD player.

He knew what he wanted… Cows! (Again and again and again and again and I think you get the picture, right?)

And since I love dancing with him, or watching the Hubby dance with him, it all worked out well…

So, between eating, snuggling, listening and dancing to music, Little Dude had a great day. He even had time to chase Supercat. Again and again and again and again and I’m guessing you have the picture again?

Little Dude is sleeping peacefully, Supercat is sleeping on Little Dude’s couch (only fair, since Little Dude keeps crawling on and through Supercat’s perch, sending Supercat flying across the room to save his tail – literally and figuratively), and the Hubby is snoring in the next room.

Hmm… Leads me back to another song (One which I was happy to hear on Sesame Street Old School!) – One of these things is not like the other, three of these things are kind-of the same…

Time for me to get some sleep as well!

Sounds like a very happy little boy.

Those eating binges are exhausting. Anna is having one right now. She’s up every single hour to eat voraciously. Ugh. I’m sleepy. Our family has dance contests in the kitchen when we’re making dinner. Ben usually wins hands down.

Has he listened to Hans yet? I love the airplane song.

    Dancing is so much fun.

Great CD recommendations! I’ll have to check them out for Liam!

What a grand time for all of you. Such a sweet boy you’ve got to make your heart melt. And a good eater is always better than a picky one! Enjoy it, it may change in the coming months.

Both of those are great CDs, my daughter has both of them. I finally loaded them on a ipod shuffle for her so that I don’t have to hear COWS over and over and over and over again.
