I have come to the conclusion that Little Dude was given to me as a gift by God, not only to bless us by the chance to be his parents, but to make up for the few hundred-million times I was sick and scared the daylights out of my parents. (Oh, and to get back at me for my slightly strong-willed ways, maybe… But I still say he gets that from the Hubby…)

We managed to get rid of the fever for most of the day, but it did come back, very low-grade, this evening. He’s in bed now and will hopefully wake all healthy and ready to go, as we plan to head to the zoo tomorrow.

Hopefully that waking time is after 6/6:30 am. And yes, as far as the zoo goes, I’m aware the forecast for our area is “blazing hot, with a slight chance of breathing through the oppressive humidity.” Any sign of a fever on him and we won’t go.

Just wanted to update on the Little Dude status…

Thank you for all the kind thoughts and as for why he has been so sick lately, have I mentioned his penchant for licking everything he touches, as of late? It is really charming – not. My mom said he actually went for her shoes to chew on the other day (eww….). And since this licking habit has arrived about the same time he started going to “school” a few days per week, I can only imagine what goes in his mouth there after the last child licked it. (My OCD won’t allow me to think about that too much, though, or I may have to Lysol my child every time comes back in this house – something I’m pretty certain child protective services would frown upon.)

This is one habit/stage I will not miss when it is gone.
