Will my future daughter-in-law thank us?

August 6, 2008

The Hubby does the majority of the cooking in our household, and I’m happy to say we are raising a son who will hopefully love the kitchen, as well.

Microwaving some popcorn, perhaps?

So what do you think? Will he have a very happy wife someday? I know I adore my Chef Hubby, and am thankful he learned to cook!

We have that exact same kitchen! (It’s in Alicia’s room)… We got it when Alicia was a baby, and the boys played with it a lot when they were little. Josh (who’s 8) still plays with it some with the girls, as they love to play restaurant with their pizza hut cash register *lol*. (Josh wants to be a cook when he grows up)

So cute! Love the kitchen set. The bottom pic is priceless…the ‘deer caught in headlights’ look.
“Uhhh..I’m not cooking. It’s not what you think. I was uh, um making sure the burners work properly. Yeah, that’s it.”

I love that play kitchen! Your future daughter-in-law will appreciate it, even if she never vocalizes it!

That looks like fun! I’ve looked at those so many times. My sons favorite toy is a plastic spatula that came from a kitchen set. He always leaves it in the car for riding time. It’s almost like a security thing, he usually just holds it, occasionally chewing on it.

Well, she might be a little irked that he likes to cook in his underwear…LOL!

I taught all three of my children to cook. D1 loves to prepare Asian food, all from scratch, and she now has her boyfriend interested in not only helping out, but flying solo sometimes. D2 cooks, but it’s not a passion for her. However, she is on a mission to improve her boyfriend’s eating habits, so is expanding her culinary repertoire. OS, the boy in the family, LOVES to cook. He’s the type of cook who opens the cupboards, pulls out the most random items, and conjures up the most amazing feast. I still laugh about him moving into his first apartment and wailing at the apartment size stove “How can I cook a decent sized roast in that?!”

The Urbane Lion is a professionally trained chef, so I just get to sit back and sip wine during meal prep time. Yup, Little Dude will make a wife very happy someday.

The question is not will your future daughter in law love you because she will probably will. The real question is will your son love you for posting a picture of him in his camouflage undies playing with a kitchen set….LOL

    Too Cute!

Mrs Geek says that finding a guy that can cook is one thing, getting him to tidy up afterwards is another.

Cook away Little Dude! Very cute pics. Both C and B loved their kitchen set. B is just getting interested in cooking. C is learning the fine art of surviving on microwave cuisine, but he makes and excellent food critic, LOL.

Oh how I wish that my husband enjoyed cooking…
Of course I also wish for a million dollars so, life is what it is. Get cooking little dude!

Same story with my hubs… he’s a great cook and learned from one of the best. Liam would love that kitchen… he plays with a similar one at his cousin’s house.

Love the new camera! Great shots.
