If I had a hammer…
September 4, 2008
Little Dude pitches in, to help remove the old gold carpet at our church. He was pretty proud to be carrying around a REAL hammer.
I know you are all disappointed, but I don’t think the gold carpeting is up for resale…
Oh, and to update my prior post – per my mom and dad, my little sister may have been baptized on that carpet (she is 29-years-old), but I was not. So yes, the carpet was almost 30-years-old. Eek.
(Thank you, Lynn, for taking and forwarding this picture to me.)

Hey it will come back in fashion again. Ahhh I remember the days when the kids were all happy to help, now they avoid “Help” like a plague.
so listen, i may need some help on my folks house….what are the dude’s rates?
Chris – I’m thinking it is too bad my parents didn’t have that carpet when they got married – it totally would have matched mom’s flowers and the bridesmaid’s dresses.
Storm – Food and board, plus a few hundred in savings bonds, so he can add to his college fund (since his mommy and daddy will be too broke to afford much).
Ewww that carpet was NASTY.
Cute, cute photo!
What a good lad, I would not have been that close to my son with a hammer in his hand.
he looks sooooo serious. “Get outta here, I’m working!”
Good to start ‘em working young. A little manual labor builds character.
Awww! … Look at the cute little Happy Helper! (That’s what we used to call Jared, when he was Little Dude’s age.
)
Put the carpet on eBay to raise some money for the church. Someone will buy it!
Start ‘em young is what I say!
I’m with Urban Panther…put the carpet on eBay for your church…people will buy ANYTHING on eBay!
Although I’m liking the eBay idea, I think they have already disposed of the carpet… If not, maybe Craigslist, where we can be more local (no shipping charges). Hmm…
Awww shucks… No more gold carpet. LOL.
