Quoth the raven, ‘Nevermore.’ – Edgar Allan Poe
I ran into a very talkative friend today, as I returned to my office from a meeting. It took me a moment to figure out where he was hiding, but when I did, the picture was too perfect ignore, and I was so happy to have my camera in my bag (yes, the replacement camera, which I’m loving).
(And truthfully, I am pretty certain this was a blackbird, and not a raven, but I couldn’t get Poe’s poem out of my head.)

Sometimes I see some really pretty birds in the tree outside my window (by my desk)… But by the time I grab the camera, they always fly away. Bummer!

Julie – I’m trying to get better about keeping the camera always right next to me, but I’ve missed plenty, too. (The nice thing about some of our meetings at work, is that on gorgeous days, the walk can be so enjoyable and full of fun sights.)
You are so smart to carry you camera in your purse. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve missed photo ops because I didn’t have my camera with me (I don’t have a camera phone).

kweenmama – It was part of my training in the school of mass communications (public relations/journalism). I learned to at least keep a point-and-shoot on me, and thankfully the new camera is pretty small and easy to keep in my purse or pocket.
